THE LONG-AWAITED SECOND ISSUE OF THE COAT RACK IS HERE !
by Stevie Finegan
Dearest Greys, with the greatest of enthusiasm, let me welcome you all to the long awaited second issue of The Coat Rack. Please wander in and explore the cavalcade of new spoils we have tireless gather for your singular amusement. You will find many old and new articles including; Mystic-Mellan’s miraculous mumblings, assorted sixth form boys strutting their stuff and the official Grey Coat Hospital trading card game.
Now for some announcements:
Firstly, we at the newspaper would like to apologise for the lack of an advent calendar as we promised so many of you for the count down to Christmas. Unfortunately and exams and general work took it’s toil and we were unable to complete it in time. However to placate your justified wrath we have instead created the ‘Sixth Form Boy Calendar’ which has the advantage of being able to keep you company all year. This can be found
here.
Next we move on to the prizes won in the joyous occasion that was the newspaper launch party. We are happy to announce the winners of certain competitions. Firstly the ‘Draw your own logo’ competition was won by Dou-Dou Wang-Chandler. The Biscuit eating competition was won by Jackie in 8R. And the ‘Name that Fruit’ was won by Elanor in 7G. We have lovely newspaper related prizes for these people and we would ask them to drop into one of our newspaper meetings which take place every Thursday Lunchtime in A11.
There was a final competition, which many of you entered and guessed at what mysterious items we had wrapped up in newspaper. Unfortunately during its stint in the staffroom the list of participants has vanished. The staff at The Coat Rack apologise to all who entered but would like to give you a second chance to enter
here. Hopefully you can remember what the objects felt like, or if not take a guess from the pictures.
From the last issue we also had a caption contests with numerous entrees. It was very difficult to pick a winner but we eventually went with Miriam Harris in 8C who can also collect her prize at any of the meetings in A11 held on Thursday lunchtime. The winning caption and the new competition can be found
here.
Otherwise I hope you all enjoy the second issue. Anyone feeling they wish to be a part of the newspaper can drop into A11 on Thursday lunchtime or email editors@thecoatrack.net or submit articles, pictures or general comments anonymously in the newspaper covered box in the foyer at lower school.
Happy reading!
